The main platter bearing is an extremely important part of any turntable. The Thorens original bearing was manufactured in three different series. The very first early models up to around serial number 17,000 used plastic inlays. The disadvantage was quickly recognized and a switch was made to sintered bronze inlays. The bearings of the TD 124 MK II were manufactured more precisely than the MK I models.

Our new 100% Swiss-made main platter bearing is compatible with all TD 124 models. This means that it doesn't matter whether you own an MK I or an MK II model.

Our bearing is fitted with a new bronze base plate, which has a very positive effect on running. It is absolute silent and the sound is more precise.

Included is also : a new paper gasket and a bottle of special bearing oil.
